EL PASO, Texas ( Border Report ) — A National Guard soldier shot a migrant who stabbed two people near the border, according to an internal bulletin obtained by NewsNation.
On Sunday evening in El Paso’s Lower Valley, the event occurred along the top of the Rio Grande.
According to NewsNation reporter Ali Bradley, the man involved is a member of the Indiana National Guard and is a Texas governor. Greg Abbott’s borders protection program, Operation Lone Star.
According to the U.S. S. Border Patrol report, titled “Border Violence/National Guardsman Involved in a Shooting, ” the man saw an individual stabbing a fellow immigrant along the river’s top, which is on U. S. land. The man shot the personal, who ran up into Mexico. What was shot at them or whether they were struck is still undetermined.
Shortly afterward, investigators discovered two stabbing victims. Shortly after that, an El Paso Fire and Rescue crew arrived and treated the migrants for what they termed” superficial wounds” and did n’t pose a threat to their lives.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reportedly sealed off the neighborhood and that no U.S. S. Border Patrol agents were permitted to enter or have been permitted to speak with the people who were in the sealed region. Border agents may assist in identifying and processing the migrants, but one realtor did accompany the doctors who took one of the workers to a doctor.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Military Department, to which the Texas Army National Guard is a member, were the subjects of all inquiries from Border Patrol officers.
A spokesman for the Texas Military Department confirmed to Border Report that a National Guard civilian from Operation Lone Star discharged a weapon on Sunday. He added that the incident is still being investigated and that more details will be made obtainable as the investigation develops.
Border Report has even reached out to the Texas DPS and is waiting for a reply.
