During an interview aired on Tuesday ’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Special Report, ” Sen. According to Michael Bennet (D-CO ), there should be censure of services on both sides of the aisle regarding how they handled Iran, and that Iran has been able to forge influence in the region that is much more powerful than anything they had ten or fifteen years ago. Their intermediaries have been much more effective. ”

Guest Bret Baier asked, [relevant transfer begins around 2:45] “Sen. You mentioned Iran and how you were putting strain on them, and how they are also a real danger in that area. There certainly is censure of the Biden administration from the proper that, perhaps, the restrictions have n’t been fully implemented and they have a lot of money that they’re spending, including on criminal intermediaries. What’s the response to that, knowing what you know on this committee?

Bennet responded, “ I think, knowing what I know on this committee, Bret, I think it ’s fair to say there should be criticism of administrations on both sides of the aisle. If you take a look at what has happened over the past 15 years, you can see how Iran has benefited from having those proxies in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen, and they have been able to forge a much larger degree of influence in the region than anything they had ten or fifteen years ago. Their proxies have been much more successful. This is the kind of thing, by the way, that should n’t change from Democratic to Republican administrations. During the Cold War, we made mistakes, we certainly made mistakes, but, in general, every president knew what their job was with respect to the Cold War. I sincerely hope that as we move past this funding for Ukraine and actually get it done, there will be a new consensus, similar to the one that was once bipartisan and lasted from a Democratic to a Republican administration. ”
