According to NSMP, two individuals have been detained by New Mexico State Police in connection with a hoard property in Las Cruces.

On Friday, March 12, an NMSP commander made a traffic stop on Interstate 10 north of Las Cruces.

The occupants of the vehicle displayed signs of “nervous behavior ” and made “inconsistent statements, ” State Police officials said.

The official asked the driver, later identified as Albert Torres, 40, to exit the vehicle because he did n’t possess a valid driver’s certificate.   State Police claim that the officer next observed drug paraphernalia fall from Torres ‘ shoulder as he exited the car.

    Torres was finally detained.

A female passenger, identified as Victoria Cabrales, 37, began reaching under her desk. She was even asked to exit the vehicle, according to State Police.

During a search of Torres, the officer found “suspected ” methamphetamine on him, State Police said. Additionally, according to State Police, Torres was found to be a criminal who had already been sentenced.

Cabrales therefore requested that she go back to the car to get her telephone. According to State Police, the officer returned to the car with her and discovered a gun between the passenger seat and the center console.

The rifle had been reported stolen, and Cabrales was finally taken into custody, according to State Police.

Torres and Cabrales informed the police that there was food inside the car they were transporting to a Las Cruces home.   Then they informed State Officers that the residents of this house were undocumented and would not answer the door because the house was a hoard home.

Additionally, they claimed that the property may have more weapons on hand.

Both the home and the car were searched on a hunt permit. More meth and drug paraphernalia were discovered during the auto research, according to State Police.

16 illegal immigrants were found locked in a place with no food, waters, or communication device during the research of the home, according to State Police.

    U. S. Border Patrol was contacted to arrange the immigrant’s arrest. The Dona Ana County Detention Center is where Torres and Cabrales were taken. The claims they are facing include receiving stolen property, ownership of a controlled substance, try to commit a criminal and ticket, travel or ownership of a rifle.
