UVALDE, Texas ( ValleyCentral )— Walmart has issued an apology for selling a Uvalde-themed shirt after hundreds voiced their displeasure on social media.
Uziyah Garcia, 10, was killed in the Robb Elementary School filming in 2022, and Britt Cross’s parents, posted a picture of the top on X.
The top features the state of Texas, with the word “ Where the devil is Uvalde, Texas? ”
Cross shared the image with the message,” Oh you know, that city by San Antonio where 19 children and two faculty were killed. ”
When ValleyCentral reached Walmart, the retailer apologized and said the business had to take the item down once it was discovered that the customers had found the language offensive.
Our stores have always been important to the communities they serve, and Walmart’s statement states that they can purchase directly important goods. “Though also intended, we apologize for any problems this product has caused. ”
Cross’s blog has garnered more than 120,000 views.
