On Wednesday, the Senate voted down two articles of impeachment that claimed Department of Homeland Security Secretary  In his power as DHS minister, Alejandro Mayorkas engaged in the “willful and widespread refusal to comply with the law” regarding the southern border. The following asserted that Mayorkas had harmed the people.
What resulted in a party-line voting, began with Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N. Y. , asking for a motion to have the first article declared unlawful, to which the bulk of senators consented following some unsuccessful motions by Republicans.  By a ballot of 51 to 48, the post was declared illegal, with Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, voting provide.
Fox News information:
Sen. Schumer objected to his point of order after his demand for unanimous assent, which would have allowed for a set amount of time for lawmakers to question two GOP commitments and vote on a set number of agreed upon points of purchase. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo.
Instead of the debate and points of order suggested by Schumer, who made his objection, the Senate may conduct a complete trial of the Mayorkas impeachment articles, which would be followed by a good successful dismissal of the articles. Â
Senate Republicans objected to Schumer’s point of order because it would essentially end the first of the two posts. Some GOP lawmakers proposed gestures, which took precedent over the point of order, to reschedule or board the place, among other things. But all GOP movements failed. Â
After another sample of movements to prevent voting on Schumer’s next point of order, which would consider the following article illegal, the Senate agreed to it. The voting was along party lines 51-49, with Murkowski rejoining the Republicans. Â
