On Tuesday night, Google workers who participated in a protest against the company’s ongoing enterprise with Israel were detained.
People from the company officially organized and took part in two different demonstrations, one in Sunnyvale, California, and another in one of Google’s offices in New York City, according to the Hill.
No Tech for Apartheid, an advocate organization, was in charge of the Sunnyvale rally, according to the group’s website. The group allegedly allegedly walked into Thomas Kurian’s office and demanded that Google stop doing business with Israel and halt its$ 1. It signed a$ 2 billion deal with Israel in 2021.
A person is seen requesting staff to keep in a video that was posted to X.
“It’s getting basically late… I wanted to ask you, you know, to engage, you know, you ’ve been placed on administration left, and, you know, we’d like to see if you’d only deliberately, you know, so it ’s been a while, but, can you do that for us? ” the man says, asking them to depart, as they occupied the company for more than eight days.
The man explains to the activists that if they do not leave, he will have to “call law enforcement, ” to which the activists say they understand. Shortly after, officers are seen entering the room and telling the protesters they may keep.
After occupying their boss’s business for more than 8 hours and demanding that Google cut ties with Israel, Google employees were detained.

Under Project Nimbus, Google and Amazon work together to provide the Israeli government with “cloud computing system ” and other companies. According to TIME, Google apparently provides the IDF with cloud computing services.
In an open letter from No Tech for Apartheid to Amazon and Google professionals, such as Andy Jassy, Adam Selipsky, Sundar Pichai, and Thomas Kurian, the party says the firm ’s “technology is directly supporting ” the “ethnic purging of Gaza. ”
The team writes:
I’m writing to you urgently and in solidarity with the thousands of brave Amazon and Google employees who have demanded that they immediately revoke your$ 1. A$ 2 billion contract was signed for Project Nimbus, and it was terminated in favor of the Israeli military and government.
This need is essential. Your technology instantly supports Gaza’s ongoing ethnic cleansing and the current genocidal bombings that started last month. This disaster includes the full Israeli assault of Gaza, cutting off food, water, and light to 2+ million individuals, half of whom are children. Jewish personal attacks that have recently systematically wiped out entire Palestinian households and neighborhoods in Gaza. This includes the precise attacks of institutions, journalists, the frontier cross, and Palestinians fleeing under evacuation purchase. Israeli ministers have declared the intent to “eliminate everything ” in Gaza and referred to Gazans as “human animals, ” In the past week, the Israeli military have murdered over 10,000 Palestinians, including over 4,000 children.
In the wake of the U.S. election, there have been more pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the United States and around the globe. S. -designated Islamic evil party, Hamas, attacking Israel on October 7, 2023, leaving 1,200 Israelis dead and more than 200 people taken as victims.
