Arizona House Republicans fought off a second attempt on Wednesday to overturn a law from 1864 that, in response to a fresh 15-week pregnancy cap, the Arizona Supreme Court recently upheld.
According to the report, the Arizona Senate left the door open for repealing the 1864 rules after two Senate Republicans voted with Democrats to allow a reform effort to advance.
“ In total, three Republicans in competitive districts joined Democrats to support repeal, ” Axios reported. “The razor-thin profits, 30-30 in the House and 16-14 in the Senate, illustrate the conflicts that the decision has generated in this battle position. ”
Senate President Kim Quintero stated to reporters that the last reform voting could take as soon as two weeks, but the Senate may take the first reading of the new expenses on Wednesday.

According to the report, “it is likely that the repeal wo n’t have the two-thirds supermajorities necessary to take effect right away,” meaning it would become law 90 days after the legislative session ends.”

Arizona Governor is both Democrat. Katie Hobbs and Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes have said they would not enforce the 1864 law, although abortionists are “unlikely to provide illegal abortions regardless, ” according to the report.

Some popular Arizona Republicans have even somewhat distanced themselves from the Arizona Supreme Court’s decisions, including Senate candidate Kari Lake and past Gov. Doug Ducey. Former President Donald Trump told Writers, he believes that the 1864 legislation is excessive.
Pro-abortion protesters are among the express supreme court’s decision; moving forward with a proposed amendment that would grant Arizona a legal right to abortion.
