
Louis Gossett Jr.’s cause of death The primary black man to receive an Emmy for his role in the groundbreaking TV series Roots and an Oscar for his performance has been revealed.
Gossett Jr.  died from a lung condition, with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD ) being listed as the main cause of death, according to the actor’s death document, which was  obtained by TMZ.
Additionally, the report mentions that heart failure and cardiac tachycardia are contributing illnesses, and that Gossett Jr. had been suffering from COPD for decades.
As Breitbart News reported , Gossett Jr. died on March 29 in Santa Monica, California, at the age of 87.  At the time, no cause of death for the artist was revealed.
While Gossett Jr. had a background in acting in the 1960s and early 1970s; his breakthrough role was Fiddler in the Screen miniseries Roots in 1977. depicted the horrors of servitude, along with John Amos and LeVar Burton.
His additional credits include the 1982 movie An Officer and a Gentleman, the 1985 film Enemy Mine, the 2019 little series Watchmen, the 2013 Television series Boardwalk Empire, the Iron Eagle video series, and next year’s version of the Broadway music The Color Purple, among many other funds.
The artist had been married three times throughout his life. His second wife was Hattie Glascoe, to whom he had a five-month marriage before splitting up in 1968. His subsequent relationship was to Christina Mangosing. The couple was jointly from 1973 to 1975. Gossett Jr. and ’s second wife was actress Cyndi James-Reese, whom he was married to from 1987 to 1992.
Gossett Jr. Â is survived by his two sons, Satie, a producer-director from his next relationship, and Sharron, a restaurateur whom he adopted after seeing the 7-year-old in a TV section on kids in desperate situations. He is also survived by his first aunt, comedian Robert Gossett.
