Young protesters scurried into an intersection near Vice President Kamala Harris ‘ Brentwood apartment on Monday morning, urging authorities to take more action to address the climate crisis, and that made six of them arrest without incident.

Due to her motorcade’s different way from her apartment to Los Angeles International Airport that night, Harris did not interact with the protesters. She traveled to Las Vegas to speak at a conference that promotes reproductive rights and speak at a new federal gun safety legislation.

On Sunday, a group of about 40 young protesters erected station close to Harris ‘ home and vowed to stay there until the next day if she failed to meet her expectations regarding Israel and climate change.

The Sunrise Movement, which has staged climate protests throughout the nation, has two demands for the evil leader: persuade President Joe Biden to consider a climate emergency and put an end to the United States. S. defense assistance to Israel.

High school student Wei Zhou, 17, came from their house in Washington, D. C. , to meet the show, having participated in a comparable opposition outside Biden’s house in Delaware in February. Zhou, who joined the movement at age 14 and declared a weather emergency, said Biden would be able to “unlock a lot of power.”

That might include preventing evacuation of people affected by climate catastrophe and providing them with free health care, they said.

Zhou and a few more protesters gathered across the street from the blockade. “Harris, Harris, can’t you see, this is an emergency, ” they chanted, alternating the former expression with “fossil energy are killing me” and “this will be your reputation. ”

Six young activists sat in the street, holding signs, and chanting protest music as part of the siege.

Around a hundred Los Angeles Police Department officials began making arrests of the six activists in the road one by one around 10:15. They were booked on fear of failing to separate, a criminal, police said; No more details were made available by LAPD.

As they were being detained, the demonstrators recited comments. As other protesters chanted her name, Ariela Lara, 18, said,” Our populations in California breathe toxic air from fossil fuels and experience fires that destroy our houses. Her name and age were confirmed by The Sunrise Movement.

Adah Crandall, 18, a prototype for the Sunrise Movement, claimed that his creation is organizing for climate change while they are teenagers because Kamala Harris and other people have failed us.

As a few more police officers arrived to clean the crossing, the remaining protesters continued to speak. By 10:30 a. m. , though, the protesters had departed.

As part of a global” Coordinated Economic Blockade to Free Palestine,” pro-Palestinian activists in the San Francisco Bay Area and cities around the world blocked highways and bridges on the same day as Harris ‘ protest. ”

In San Francisco, protesters who carried a sign that read, “STOP THE WORLD FOR GAZA, ” blocked the 101’s south and north lanes, shutting down the Golden Gate Bridge for several hours during the morning rush hour. At 10:30 am, the California Highway Patrol Marin  said it was making detention, but the gate remained shut.

The pro-Palestinian demonstrations were piece of  A15 Action ,  an international campaign to coordinate a “multi-city economic blockade to free Palestine ” on April 15. A15 Action urged protesters to take part in “blocking the vessels of socialism and jamming the wheels of production, ” according to A15 Action, which stated on its site. ”

In each city, A15 Action added,” We will identify and blockade big choke positions in the economy, focusing on factors of production and flow with the intention of causing the most economic effect.”

In Brentwood, the Sunrise Movement protesters said they felt  Harris was a hero for the climate  before entering the White House ,  advocating  when she was running for president and while supporting environment change legislation as a legislator.

“We’ve seen her go away of Biden on specific issues, ” said Zhou. “We’re asking her to be the kind of chief she was in 2019 today. ”
