The White House rebuked the racist threats that have been slurred at pro-Palestinian demonstrations at colleges across the nation, most somewhat Columbia University.
Large organizations have gathered at Columbia, calling for a stalemate in Gaza. Some protesters go farther by calling for the demise of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and, allegedly, using threats against Jewish students. The White House condemned the “blatantly Antisemitic” language in a statement issued on Sunday.
While every American has the right to peaceful opposition, calls for physical harassment and assault against Jewish individuals and the Jewish society are clearly racist, intolerable, and dangerous, according to White House assistant press secretary Andrew Bates, who spoke to the Washington Examiner.
“And echoing the language of extremist businesses, especially in the wake of the worst murder committed against the Hebrew people since the Holocaust, is disgusting. We categorically reject these assertions. ”
A priest from Columbia University’s Orthodox Union Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus made the suggestion that Israeli individuals should return home as soon as possible and remain there. ” The recommendation probably came in response to a movie circulated on social media where, between them, two men shouted, “Never ignore the 7th of October. The 7th of October will be your day, not just one more time, but 10,000 more times. ”
The New York City Police Department arrested over 100 protesters on Columbia’s campus Thursday on suspicion of trespassing. Among them was Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) daughter, Isra Hirsi, who was subsequently suspended as other arrested students were.
In response to the news, Omar responded by saying that Hirsi had “pushed her school to stand against genocide.” ”
Mayor of New York City Eric Adams remarked on the campus’alleged antisemitism as horrifying and disgusting. Some 1 are found in the city. 3 million Jews.

Hate is not acceptable in our city, and Adams wrote on social media on Sunday, telling them to look into any lawful practices they find. They will arrest anyone found to be breaking the law.
According to NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell, all the detained students made peaceful submissions and that no injuries or reports of violence from police were made. Officers arrived at the request of Columbia University, which reported the danger.
