Jewish people are getting ready for the start of the Passover trip on Monday night, in a year when Palestinian terrorists are capturing Israeli prisoners in Gaza.
The Exodus, an Israelite slave migration to Egypt and the Promised Land of Israel, is celebrated during Easter.
The main event of the Passover vacation is the ;. seder, a group of people who reenact the Exodus by reading specific writings and eating special foods, is a menu item. The Passover text, the Haggadah, instructs: “ In generation upon generation, it is incumbent upon each individual to regard himself as if he [personally ] left Egypt. ”
This time, that order is mainly profound, as there are 133 Jewish victims also in Gaza, many of whom are thought to be dead — and many of whom have been sold as slaves, and forced to work as prisoners, for their prisoners.
A former Israeli prisoner who was freed in a November truce earlier this month claimed she had been kidnapped by Palestinians during the terror attack on October 7 and afterwards sold to Hamas.
Two Israeli hostages who had been freed by IDF ( IDF) soldiers also admitted to being forced to work as slaves for a Palestinian family, where they were given little food.
Their tale is a representation of the metaphor of the ; The “bread of affliction ” to which prisoners were subjected in Egypt is called matzah, the dry food that is consumed on Easter as both a symbol of liberty and hunger.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement on Sunday, citing the ongoing hostage-taking of victims in Gaza and bringing up the holiday’s elements:
Why is this evening unique, residents of Israel?
133 of our dear brothers and sisters are not around the Seder stand on this day, and they are still being held hostage by Hamas in dreadful problems.
We have now freed 124 of our victims, and we are committed to returning them all home, both the living and the dying.
And why is this evening no unique?
That the Holy One, blessed get He, saves us from them while they rise up every generation to kill us.
We will also triumph over those who seek our lives this day thanks to the conviction of our people, the bravery of our soldiers, and the strength of our allies.
Our victims are being held by Hamas before our eyes on this Seder day. Their anguish and the anguish of their people only aggravates our resolve to win them back. We are no relenting, not even for a second, from our divine mission to gain them home.
However, until then, all ideas for releasing the captives have been rejected openly by Hamas. The American Secretary of State correctly stated that Hamas has rejected every suggestion that has been made in the past. According to him, Hamas is the only thing preventing a prisoner release deal.
Hamas is counting on a split in us to prevent it from going out of its extreme opportunities. It is encouraged by the pressure being put on the Israeli state. As a result, it has only made the conditions for the transfer of our hostages more comfortable. It is refusing to allow our people move and is hardening its center.
So, we will strike it with more terrible blows– and this will happen quickly.
We will put more military and diplomatic pressure on Hamas over the coming weeks because this will be the only way to release our hostages and secure our success.
Citizens of Israel, on the day of Passover, when the people of Israel went forward from slavery to freedom, let us consider our fell soldiers, and our wounded soldiers, thanks to whose compromise, we are free citizens.
Both the IDF and the State of Israel are strong, both competitively and excessively. Our adversaries may defeat us, but we will defeat them.
I pay homage to our brave men who are fighting on all sides, whether they are on land, at sea, or in the atmosphere. I lift my brother brothers and sisters who have lost loved ones.
The Army is the only element preventing the murder of our people as it has historically been, according to my late brother Yoni, who lost his life during a hostage exchange.
I will clearly support the Army, our troops and our soldiers. I will fight this with all of my powers if someone thinks they may impose restrictions on an IDF system.
Our troops are united in defending us on the field, and we are united in defending them in the political arena.
Together we will struggle and with G-d’s support, together we will get.
The Prime Minister’s Office even released a film, titled “Empty Chair, ” to highlight the situation of the victims:

The Passover vacation even has relevance for Christians, as the Last Supper was a Passover seder. Jesus imparted fresh significance to the matzah, as well as to the liquor that consumed during the meal, which form the basis for fellowship.
