A urologist from Washington State has been accused of repeatedly raping a female member of a small community over the course of more than six years, according to the prosecution.
Dr. Vulihn Ta, of MultiCare OB/GYN Associates in Takoma, was arrested on April 12 by the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office after the young woman accused him of raping her more than 20 days, the Daily Mail reported.
Although the precise relationship to the alleged victim is unknown, Ta, 51, is a sibling who reportedly began assaulting her in the home hot tub when she was between the ages of 11 and 12.
The physical abuse began in 2017, according to court papers cited by Fox 13 Seattle, with the most recent example occurring only a few weeks ago in early April.
Ta reportedly began by following the woman after she took a shower and promising to get her video games in trade for her quietness.
The target claimed that those were the time she had been raped by him and gave authorities a list of six movie game documents from 2022, all of which included Ta’s billing address.
If she refused to comply, the woman said “he would only force me to and buy the items okay, ” the Kitsap Sun reported.
The victim allegedly told authorities she had been raped in a hot tub more than 15 times, and more than 20 times since then when the family purchased one.
On April 15, Ta’s family filed for divorce, and Ta’s wife did the same.
After entering a not-guilty appeal, the doctor is currently in custody at the Kitsap County Jail and is currently facing charges of assault of a kid, business sexual abuse of a slight, and third-degree assault.
MultiCare has placed Ta on leave pending an inspection.
We are conducting a thorough research and take these claims of criminal actions by a provider quite seriously, according to spokesman Scott Thompson.
Ta’s trial is “tentatively ” set to begin on May 28, and faces up to life in prison and$ 80,000 in fines if convicted, according to the Daily Mail.
