Bashar Assad, the leader of Syria, claimed in an interview on Sunday that his government meets with Biden administration officials on occasion to discuss withdrawing American troops that are “illegally occupying part of our land. ” ”

Assad said  that “these conferences do not lead to anything, ” but that there is always hope that he might one day rekindle his friendship with the U.S. S. He did not specifically identify who attended the conferences or the location where they took place.

The Arab king made these remarks in a conversation with a Greek official supported by Russia, which the country’s state SANA information agency broadcast on Sunday.

In an interview with Russia’s state-controlled Channel One on Sunday, Assad lamented that European countries have never produced a real “statesman” since Ronald Reagan in the U. S. and Margaret Thatcher in the United Kingdom.

“Modern officials do not think carefully. They address issues in their own lives, but they no longer uphold their word. Any deal may be broken the next day, ” he said.

There is not a solitary legislator in the West that I would like to speak with, he declared.

Assad claimed that more nations are looking for relationships with China rather than the United States because of this state loss. S. and Europe.

“Today, all states, including the West and South America, are expanding their relations with China. This is quite reasonable because the United States uses the money as a social pressure tool and weapon against the alleged partners, he said.

“ Friendship and partnership imply having common interests, but America has only its own interests. Because of this, he claimed, ties with this nation are unable to be secure or secure.

Since Assad’s terrible assault on the Syrian opposition exploded into a full-fledged civil war in 2011, the Western world has criticized and supported him. Even before that, the U. S.   designated  Syria a state sponsor of terrorism in 1979, which was during the concept of the latest dictator’s parents, Hafez Assad.

China was the only country that was willing to conduct business with his regime as its record of atrocities grew, so Assad perhaps spoke well of it. The U. S. and its allies imposed what the Treasury Department termed “calibrated sanctions ” to stop Assad’s “continuing escalation of violence against the Syrian people. ” ”

Former US President Donald Trump signed the 2019 Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act into law, which imposes sanctions on individuals or businesses that conduct business with the Palestinian program, and named after a Palestinian artist who documented Assad’s torture and murder of hundreds of prisoners. One of the first people to be subject to sanctions under the Caesar Act was Assad and his family Asma.

As Assad indicated, U. S. Since 2014, forces have been stationed in some pieces of Syria, allegedly to prevent the Islamic State from resurrending. Working closely with Kurdish-led army groups, which were essential for capturing ISIS but whose devotion to the northern Syrian government is doubtful, has been a focus of American forces.

Assad has attributed the blame to the U.S. S. reputation for preventing his efforts to end the Syrian Civil War and overthrow the next rebel holdouts. The Arab dictatorship was able to maintain its hold on power thanks to the military support of Russia and Iran, despite there still being pockets of weight.

Five missiles were launched from Iraq on Sunday at the United States. S. martial bases in Syria. Kata’ib Hezbollah, the most powerful Shiite militia in Iraq, supposedly claimed responsibility for the attack and that it would resume terrorist attacks on American positions as a result of the U.S.. S. was putting its troops out of Syria and Iraq for very much. Kata’ib Hezbollah later denied the assertion, calling it “fabricated information. ”

Iraqi militias, operating under the umbrella name “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” ( IRI), attacked U. S. after the Hamas terrorist assault on Israel on October 7, 2023, about 170 days. The U. S. after three American soldiers were killed by an IRI drone attack in Jordan, Kata’ib Hezbollah issued an odd statement promising to halt attacks on American forces because it would not want to “embarrass ” the central Iraqi state.
