Actress Meg Bennett— who had a long-running part on CBS ’s At age 75, The Young and the Restless, who later wrote soap operas for ABC’s General Hospital and ABC’s Young and the Restless, passed away.
Meg Bennett died on April 11 after a fight with cancer, her household wrote in an online obituary that was published Sunday in the Los Angeles Times.
“ Until nearly the end she was devotedly working with children, writing, and engaging with her far-flung family and friends, ” her family wrote.
In her long career in daylight television , Bennett became a common experience for playing the character Julia Newman — the first woman of evil billionaire Victor Newman ( Eric Braeden )— in The Young and the Restless. She played the role from 1980 to 2002.

She was hired as a poet for the present because of her ability to change the code on the spot. Her writing skills led to work on several other struck soaps, including General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, Santa Barbara, and Sunset Beach.
Bennett and General Hospital each received a nighttime Emmy Award in 1995 for their job.
Meg Bennett grew up in Pasadena, attending John Muir High School. She majored in play at Northwestern University, where she was homecoming wife and a Miss America participant, performed in summertime property, according to her home ’s article.
Her victims include her husband, Robert Guza Jr. , who served as head contributor for General Hospital.
