At a ceremony on Tuesday, Florida Democratic Party chairman Nikki Fried decried the country’s six-week pregnancy cap while President Joe Biden, a self-professed Catholic, made the sign of the cross.
A clip of the Tampa, Florida, event broadcast on Fox News shows the 81- year- aged president cross himself, a practice among Catholics meant to spiritually indicate the figure of Christ’s cross, while Fried said:” And finally we come up here to the state of Florida, where Ron DeSantis felt like he needed to run for president, and therefore 15- weeks was n’t good much — we had to go to six- weeks”.

Catholic Vote, one of the popular liberal and faith-based organizations, had negative reactions to the action.

After giving a 15-minute talk at , Hillsborough Community College’s Dale Mabry school, the senator joined Fried for a smaller event with protesters and union leaders. According to the Tampa Bay Times, his remarks to Fried and him were “much less on contraception than he did at the rally.”

Before a six-week abortion ban goes into effect next month, Biden particularly visited Florida to pique citizens ‘ interest. The Florida Supreme Court , upheld , the state’s 15- year pregnancy limitations earlier this month, which cleared the way for the six- month restriction to taking effect.  , At the same time, the Florida Supreme Court also allowed a , proposed amendment , that would enact the “right” to pregnancy in the state constitution to appear on the ballot in November.

Besides blaming former President Donald Trump for enabling the Florida law, Biden criticized his opponent for a , recent decision , from the Arizona Supreme Court upholding an 1864 law that restricts nearly all abortions, and an Alabama Supreme Court , decision , classifying embryos used in , in vitro , fertilization ( IVF ) as unborn babies.
“]Trump ] says it’s up to the states, and this is all about state rights. But he is bad. The Supreme Court was bad. ]Abortion ] should be a constitutional right in the federal constitution”, Biden said.
Biden more asserted that Trump did pass a national abortion ban if elected, despite the fact that Trump has, he said, said he thinks the pregnancy issue may be left to specific states.
Biden even made fun of Trump for promoting Bibles in his speech at the community college.
