After facing criticism from reviewers who claimed the organization poorly used federal funds to purchase airline tickets for illegal creatures to travel to their desired sites in the United States, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Antonio are defending itself.

On Thursday, two South Texas legislators criticized the organization for using national funds to pay for the airline’s order, claiming that the money are intended to pay organisations for food, shelter, and humanitarian needs rather than to provide free travel for President Joe Biden’s illegal aliens.

Reps. Henry Cuellar ( D) and Monica De La Cruz ( R ) &nbsp, warned the charity that it improperly used the money, KETK- TV reported.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA ) Shelter and Services Program funds, according to Cuellar, the ranking member of the House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee, were in violation of the rules. He argued that the money should only be used for “food and house, perhaps for travel inside a city,” never for long-distance travel.

De La Cruz concurred and added that the party’s spending was an act of national theft:

These tax money were not intended to be used to transport illegal immigrants from one state to another. They used illegal immigrants and took their money where they wanted them to go, using citizens ‘ hard-earned income. This is just simply intolerable.

Catholic Charities of San Antonio acknowledged to the place that it received$ 10.8 million to help with immigration in their place and that it used the money to purchase plane tickets for laborers.

But, Jose Antonio Fernandez, CEO of Catholic Charities of San Antonio, insists that the tickets buying were perfectly in line with the limitations of the revenue laws.

Fernandez claimed to the Catholic News Agency that it was clear that you could provide transportation as part of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program ( EFSP) FEMA grant.

” The funds were given to us to offer food, garments— all these activities — including transportation”, Fernandez added.

” It’s not my interpretation. It is a fact, some companies in the U. S. provide travel because it is allowed”, he insisted. ” If you call FEMA, they will tell you that, yes, you are truly allowed to give travel”.

Fernandez noted that since December 2023, his organization has n’t paid for any planes for illegals because he is now receiving money from a different plan that has set go revenue limits to 5 percent of the resources, which is a lower percentage of the total investing than it used to be.

He adds that the new circumstances in San Antonio are causing issues because illegals ca n’t afford to leave the city, and that this is making the number of illegals grow.

He exclaimed,” Now we’re seeing a lot more people staying in San Antonio because they do n’t have the funds to travel elsewhere.”

We serve them, we clothe them, we provide them with guidance services, with economic aid to the people staying in San Antonio— legal services, house service. We try to provide them with all these wraparound services to help mind, body, and spirit.

According to open-minded San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, Biden has already injected$ 38 million into the county to pay for migrant services, but he claims the money would be better used to stop the migrants from crossing the border without authorization first.

In a post to X, he wrote,” The County of San Diego just received$ 38 million from the Biden Administration to process migrants when they are dropped on our streets.”

The Biden Administration recently provided$ 38 million to the County of San Diego to process migrants who were dropped on our streets.

” Border patrol is their Uber into San Diego County, and San Diego County will be the migrant’s travel agents”, Desmond added. ” With federal tax dollars, the county’s mission will be to put as many migrants on planes, trains, and automobiles as quickly as possible to other parts of the country”.
