New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan on Tuesday was good and take former President Donald Trump to prison for up to 30 times for allegedly violating his joke order.
It would be a “GREAT HONOR” to become a “modern-day Nelson Mandela” in the “clink ” for speaking the truth about Merchan, Trump said in April.
Merchan may hold a reading on Tuesday to determine whether Trump allegedly violated the “unconstitutional” gag order, as Trump described it.
The joke order prevents Trump from making public comments about witnesses participating in the trial, counsel other than Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg ( D), “members of the court’s staff and the District Attorney’s staff, or … the family members of any counsel or staff member, if those statements are made with the intent to materially interfere with … counsel’s or staff’s work ” on the case. It even encompasses potential judges.
Trump may be fined and put in jail if Merchan laws in favor of the trial, according to Reuters:

The law permits the judge to take Trump to jail for up to 30 weeks, in what would be a serious spin to the first criminal trial of a former U. S. leader. Trump says the limited gag order, which prevents him from publicly criticizing testimony, court officials and their friends, is a violation of free conversation.
“The joke purchase has to come off, ” Trump told reporters last month. “People are allowed to talk about me, and I have a giggle order, only to show you how much more harsh it is. ”
“They’ve taken away my constitutional right to speak, ” he said.
“They you say anything they want, ” Trump said about his political adversaries. “They can continue to make up lies and everything else. They lie. They’re true scum. But you know what, I’m never allowed to speak. ”
“So why am I gagged about telling the truth? ” Trump questioned. “I’m simply telling the truth. They’re no telling the truth. The prosecutor has to get off this joke buy. It’s really, really unjust that my legal rights have been taken away. ”

Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 crimes in the legal case concerning alleged vote intervention and a legitimate fee paid to Michael Cohen. The test is the first-ever legal prosecution of a president of the United States. Trump was face jail time if convicted.
Just about one-third of American adults believe Trump did anything improper regarding the case, an AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll found Tuesday.
