
During a portion of an interview with NBC News aired on Monday’s “NBC Nightly News, ” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas responded to a question on why President Joe Biden has n’t taken executive action on the border by saying , “ What administrative behavior are you suggesting that we take that we have n’t taken that do survive court attention? ” Mayorkas even stated that the U. S. has “been working with ” China to get Chinese migrants deported by the U. S. and he is “hopeful” that China ’s refusal to take these people will change.
NBC News National Correspondent David Noriega asked, “ Why not get executive actions right now? Why not do more best then to handle this? ”
Mayorkas responded, “ What administrative behavior are you suggesting that we take that we have n’t taken that do survive court attention? ”
Mayorkas even stated that China ’s refusal to take Chinese migrants deported by the U. S. “may been changing. We have been working with the People’s Republic of China to really get persons whom we have determined are not ready to be in the United States. ”
Noriega finally asked, “And do you believe that to change immediately? ”
Mayorkas answered, “We are hopeful that it will. ”
