Emmy-winning actress Drea de Matteo said she knows from personal experience that many Hollywood stars “want to fight ” against the divisive social agenda being pushed by the Biden administration but “are petrified ” to do so.
De Matteo is best known for her part as Adriana La Cerva on the Sopranos. She won the 2004 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
While appearing on Triggered with Donald Trump Jr. , de Matteo admitted she felt she did not have the “voice ” to do so.
“ I wanted to. I really did want to fight, but I did n’t think I had, A, the voice, B, the balls, ” de Matteo said. “ I sort of got thrown to the wolf, I felt like, and when I was out there. I was like I’m out around, what am I going to do? I’m out of my enclosure. Like, I may as well, you know, do what I got to perform. ”
The Sopranos performer said she then feels supported by her family and God.
“My kids, they believe in what we believe in, which is liberty and unity the right way. No unity the way this leadership was trying to push. That was bulls *** ,” de Matteo said. “They took every social agenda and used that and used these social problems as puppets to further their management, did nothing but break people. ”
“This administration really has been hammering all of these items. And folks in Hollywood are petrified. What are you going to talk out against race, and intercourse, and all of that stuff? ” she added. “People are reluctant to have those kinds of conversations. Because first of all, you always win with a logo. You’re really never going to earn. ”
De Matteo therefore noted how the cultural climate of the nation has shifted so greatly to dramatically cause her to become a conventional today.
“I’m merely so liberal that I’m liberal at this point, ” de Matteo said with laughter. “Liberals are supposed to become open-minded. ”

The actress’s remarks come as the Biden administration finalized Title IX rules last year, expanding the definition of sexual to contain trans names in sexual harassment and discrimination conditions.
The leadership, however, left trans participation in activities to an empty rulemaking procedure until after the 2024 election.
