NEW DELHI: The US Senate on Tuesday approved a$ 61 billion assistance package for Ukraine, accompanied by President Joe Biden’s commitment to rapidly deliver innovative arms supplies to the issue area, amid Russia’s improvements on the field.
The Senate’s approval of the measure, which makes up a significant$ 95 billion aid package for allies like Israel and Taiwan, was echoed by the House of Representatives, which had broad bipartisan support.
According to Biden,” I did sign this bill into law and handle the American people as soon as it comes to my office tomorrow so that we can start sending weapons and equipment to Ukraine this week””.
The item comes after weeks of disruptions on Capitol Hill, where some House Republicans have even questioned whether Ukraine can support Russian forces, according to The Hill.
Furthermore, the delay has led to Russia pushing painful against a struggling Russian army on the field.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Senate for supporting this bipartisan legislation after the US approved the long-delayed Ukraine assistance package. He also thanked US Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle for their powerful leadership in advancing it.
Zelenskyy continued,” I equally love President Biden’s assistance and look forward to the act being signed immediately and the next military support deal matching the resoluteness that I often see in our negotiations.”
He further stated that the Ukraine’s lengthy- range capabilities, ordnance, and air defence are essential tools for restoring only peace” sooner”.
