    Noisy Cicadas Drive South Carolina County Residents to Call Police

    Citizens of one South Carolina state have had enough as trillions of cicadas loudly emerge from their eggs all over the country. They are contacting their neighborhood police to find out why their rural tranquility is being stifled by overbearing sirens or a quiet roar.

    After more than a decade of being inert, the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office reportedly sent out a message to Facebook to inform users that the continuous whining sounds are just unhappy man grasshoppers snoring to entice their partners.

    According to Newberry County Judge Lee Foster, some people have reportedly flagged down delegates to inquire what the noise is all about.

    According to the AP review, the county’s about 38, 000 residents, about 40 miles north of Columbia, were experiencing the loudest cicadas, which prompted calls from various locations as the day went on, Foster said.

    ” Periodic cicadas do n’t do subtle”, Cooley said, and the scientific evidence supports that claim.

    Their social music can erupt as loudly as aircraft engines, and researchers who study them frequently wear hearing protection.
