Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA ) has stated that President Joe Biden” strongly” supports the proposed foreign aid package.
Johnson proposed a proposal to complete four payments under the pretext of one, including sending more international aid to Ukraine, during a closed House Republican Conference on April 15.
All four bills were combined into a single bill that the House could vote on before deciding whether to grant each of the other bills independent votes.
In response to the Senate passing the$ 95 billion foreign aid package, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell ( R- KY ) stressed the importance of “alliances” with other countries, according to WLWT5 News.
” It’s time to are- affirm some simple truths: That alliances issue. We must be willing to defend American interests in order for other countries to honor them. And that peace, happiness, and safety are no accidents – They’re products of American authority, and British devotion”.
