Spain’s prime minister Pedro Sanchez announced on Wednesday that he would halt public duties until the following year to determine whether or not he wanted to remain in charge of the government in the wake of a court’s investigation into his wife.
” I need to wait and think”, Sanchez in a text shared on his X accounts. He wrote,” I urgently need an answer to the question of whether it is worthwhile to lead the government or to give up on this honor.”
He promised to make an announcement to the internet on Monday to let them know his choice.
A Spanish court made the shocking announcement after it announced earlier on Wednesday that it was launching a preliminary investigation into whether Begona Gomez’s woman had engaged in business hegemony and corruption in her personal dealings.
Sanchez claimed a measured response was warranted by the severity of the problems his and his wife were being exposed to.
Because the case is primary and sealed, the court investigating Gomez did not provide additional information, just citing that it was prompted by a complaint made by the anti-graft organization Manos Limpias-Clean Hands, whose leader has ties to the far-right.
Gomez reportedly used her influence to allegedly safe sponsors for a college master’s degree course she ran, according to Manos Limpias, who claims Gomez used her influence as the prime minister’s wife.
