    Agents: Driver made migrants jump from moving Yukon

    A migrant with a brain injury is transported by aircraft to a hospital in San Antonio; a grand jury in Austin has charged two men with conspiring to inflict serious bodily harm.

    Two Austin men are accused of inflicting serious injuries on two Mexican nationals in their attention while driving to the frontier and engaging in migrant trafficking.

    Luis Resendes Zubieta and Jose Avila Rodriguez are accused of crime to carry illegal aliens and endangering their lives in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Wednesday.

    The claims stem from an reported March 29 attempt to drive illicit migrants from Eagle Pass, Texas, to Houston.

    According to a criminal complaint oath, Resendes and his rider Avila, a passenger in a 2013 GMC Yukon with temporary Mexican license plates traveling northeast when they saw a border patrol highway checkpoint forward and instructed two Mexican nationals in the rear seat to leave while the vehicle was in motion.

    Resendes and Avila were inside the Yukon when it arrived at the station. On demand, the pilot provided recognition, but neither did his passenger. A officer driving up to the station observed a man lying prone on the side of the road as border agents examined Avila’s history in a extra observation area.

    According to court records, the officer requested medical attention after noticing the victim’s mind wound and extensive bleeding. He was taken to University Hospital in San Antonio by a plane for evaluation for brain injury and abrasions.

    A second man appeared to be hurt when a second gentleman emerged from the paint, according to the officer. He was transported by ambulance to Del Rio, Texas ‘ Val Verde Regional Medical Center. According to court records, both gentlemen were determined to remain Mexican citizens who were illegally entering the United States.

    Resendes reportedly told investigators that he and Avila traveled from Austin to Eagle Pass and that they were given a$ 1, 000 fee for each immigrant they could travel to Houston when confronted with the information up at the station.

    Resendes reportedly claimed that he and Avila had advised the workers to leave the vehicle after they had spotted the checkpoint. The pilot claimed in the issue that he did not stop the car but instead” slowed at about 20 miles per hour” while the refugees allegedly jumped out of the passenger side doors.

    Resendes and Avila are accused of one count of conspiracy to carry illegal aliens and bodily harm in the prosecution on Wednesday.
