President Biden and 17 other world leaders called on Hamas to relieve the victims that had been taken hostage from the Israeli terrorist attacks on October 7 and demanded that doing so would result in a protracted cease-fire in the continuing conflict in Gaza.
” We demand that all hostages held by Hamas in Gaza be immediately released after more than 200 time. They include our personal people”, the officials wrote. Global concern is expressed by the hostages’ and the human population’s fate in Gaza, who are both protected by international law.
We stress that the release of the victims may result in an immediate and protracted agreement in Gaza, which would also enable the distribution of more, urgent humanitarian aid throughout Gaza, and put the hostilities at their feet,” they continued. Gazans would be able to return to their homes and land if they had made arrangements in advance to make sure there were sanctuary and humanitarian aid.
The speech was signed by Biden, as well as the leaders of Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Columbia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Thailand and the United Kingdom. A senior administration official said that all of the countries have individuals who are being held or are missing in Gaza as a result of Hamas ‘ terrorist problems in Israel in October.
The officials said in the statement,” We strongly support the ongoing intervention efforts in order to provide our people home.” ” We reiterate our visit on Hamas to , discharge the captives, and let us finish this crisis , but that collectively we can concentrate our efforts on bringing , peace and stability to the territory”.
A senior administration official on a phone with investigators said the group of leaders were “quite extraordinary,” noting that an earlier attempt to woo people into making a similar statement failed.
The official said the speech had been in development for a while, but it came a moment after Hamas released a film of Jewish American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who was one of the victims of the surprise attack that sparked the battle next fall. When the video was created, it was n’t apparent.
The senior administration official claimed that the Biden presidency is in “regular call” with Goldberg-Polin’s family and that getting hostages up is “daily, daily of ours” is a “daily, daily focus of ours.”
Abigail Mor Edan, a four-year-old kid who was taken captive and released in November along with several others, was a subject of a conversation Biden had on Wednesday at the White House.
The White House has been campaigning for a cease-fire in Gaza for weeks that would help the release of hostages also being held in the area and allow for more humanitarian aid to flow into the area.
Hamas stated that it would not release the hostages unless Israel ended the conflict, which has killed thousands of Palestinians and sparked a wave of protests on new campuses at American colleges.
