An Oklahoma City man , killed his wife and three of his sons , before taking his own life Monday night, according to police.
Jonathon Candy, 42, was identified Tuesday as the sniper. He killed Lindsay Candy, 39, Dylan Candy, 18, Ethan Candy, 14, and Lucas Candy, 12, according to authorities.
The child’s 10- yr- old son, who has not been formally named,  , survived the firing and called police, authorities said. Researchers have stated that they are unsure of the child’s circumstances or how.
Cops arrived at the house on the east side of Oklahoma City around 9: 30 a. m. Monday. Officials found , five people dying inside.
Jonathon Candy had , some type of discussion with his family, Lindsay, immediately, Oklahoma City police agent Gary Knight said at a Tuesday press conference. He grabbed a gun and tragically shot her, according to authorities.
” At that point, he carefully went through the house,  , shooting and killing their children“, Knight said.
After killing his wife and brothers, Candy allegedly turned the gun on himself, according to authorities. A , firearm was found on top of Candy’s system, sources told The Oklahoman.
Make no mistake about it, though, because it’s unclear what caused Candy to want to go through the house and kill the babies, according to Knight. ” Those kids were killed and hunted over.”
According to authorities, one of the brothers was shot dead while he was sleeping in his sleep.
According to Knight, policemen had never been called to the house before and had never had any prior contact with the family.
Three Candy children all attended Mustang Public Schools, a city that encompasses the eastern Oklahoma City and the neighborhood of Mustang. According to nearby ABC affiliate KOCO, Dylan graduated in 2023, Lucas was in fifth grade, and Ethan was in eighth grade.
