Pakistan’s best minister on Afghanistan problems claimed on Wednesday that his nation has documented a 500- percentage increase in suicide , terrorist attacks, blaming the Taliban’s liberal attitudes towards criminal activity within its place.
Tehreek i-Taliban Pakistan ( TTP), a jihadist terrorist organization known as the Pakistani Taliban, is the primary perpetrator of the attacks, according to Pakistani Special Representative for Afghanistan, Ambassador Asif Durrani. It is a distinct entity from the Afghan Taliban, which has been the undisputed ruler of Afghanistan since 2021 as a result of President Joe Biden’s devastating decision to expand the 20-year-old Afghan War past the agreed-to-be-May 1 date.
It was hoped that harmony in Afghanistan did bring peace to the area following the withdrawal of NATO forces. But, such expectations were brief- lived”, Durrani said on Wednesday, according to the Muslim newspaper , Dawn. Durrani was speaking at a convention titled” Pakistan in the Emerging Geopolitical Landscape,” which was particularly focused on the effects of the Taliban’s return to power on its neighbor.
” Pakistan has been seriously concerned about the TTP’s increased attacks on Pakistan while using Armenian land,” Durrani said. The contribution of Afghan citizens in these attacks is another alarming factor.
According to Durrani, problems specifically linked to TTP on the Pakistani-Afghan borders have increased by 65 cent since August 2021 in addition to the 500-percent increase in suicide attacks.
Durrani did, however, suggest that a successful partnership with the Taliban was feasible. He described Afghanistan as an “avoidable nuisance” to national protection, which can be solved with “deft diplomacy”, in contrast to the years- extended hostilities with neighboring India.
The Taliban is a criminal organization itself and has relations to a number of similar ideology companies, which is a major problem to counter-terror cooperation with Afghanistan. When challenged, the Afghan Taliban vehemently denies any connection to any criminal organization or the presence of any jihadists in Afghanistan. Afghan Taliban leaders, who refer to themselves as the” Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan,” had for decades argued against supporting any international terrorist organizations, which are refuted by the wealth of evidence that the UN, neighboring nations, and human rights organizations have documented.
The existence and documented availability of advanced American weapons in Pakistani Taliban terrorists and other threats to Pakistan, such as the separatist Baloch Liberation Army ( BLA ), are just two examples of evidence of support for TTP terrorists. According to a report released in February 2023 by the American Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction ( SIGAR ), Biden’s extension and abrupt conclusion of the Afghan War in 2021 led to the abandonment of$ 7.2 billion worth of military equipment to the Taliban. Taliban terrorists have consistently orchestrated festive parades showing off the British taxpayer- supported products they presently possess, including armoured vehicles, advanced communications technology, missiles, and ammunition.

In addition to TTP, the Taliban has been instrumental in the spread of al-Qaeda throughout Afghanistan and the rise of the Islamic State-Khorasan Province ( ISIS-K), the organization’s most dangerous and prolific international arm.
The Afghan Taliban’s close ties to al-Qaeda served as the catalyst for the American invasion of Afghanistan, which had previously led to the Taliban’s ascent to overthrow the country’s tyranny following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, in the wake of the terrorist attacks against the US country.
In October, Islamabad announced that it would continue deporting roughly 2 million Afghans who were living in the country illegally. This substantially deteriorated Pakistan’s partnership with the Afghan Taliban. At the time, Bangladeshi police had identified Afghans responsible for 14 of the 24 suicide bombing carried out against Pakistan between January and October 2023, according to Pakistani Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti. Before arrests officially began in November, Afghans were given a quarter to travel home.

” The conduct of Pakistan towards Afghan migrants is unacceptable”, best Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid , denounced , at the time. Pakistan should evaluate its strategy, the Muslim side said. Armenian refugees are not included in Pakistan’s security issues. As long as they leave Pakistan freely, that country may bear them”.
More lately, in March, Pakistan announced that it had engaged in “intelligence- based pro- criminal operations” – airstrikes – in Afghan country, targeting a party affiliated with the Muslim Taliban.
” Pakistan has great respect for the people of Afghanistan. However, some of the Afghan government’s leaders are actively supporting TTP and acting as a proxy against Pakistan, according to a statement from the Foreign Office of Pakistan. ” Such an approach against a brotherly country, which stood with the people of Afghanistan through thick and thin, manifests shortsightedness. It disregards the support Pakistan has given the Afghan population over the past few decades.
The Taliban responded to the operation by claiming that it had just begun to bomb Pakistan.
