As per the agency’s confirmation, a US Secret Service agent responsible for protecting Vice President Kamala Harris allegedly engaged in physical encounter with several other agencies early on Monday, according to The New York Post.
The representative was eventually removed from Harris ‘ information, according to Fox News Digital.
The confrontation unfolded around 9 am ( local time ) near Joint Base Andrews, on the outskirts of Washington DC, before Harris arrived at the location.
The broker involved, whose personality remains unknown, was immediately “removed from their assignment”, as stated by the Secret Service to The New York Post.
” A US Secret Service special representative supporting the Vice President’s withdrawal from Joint Base Andrews began displaying behaviour their coworkers found distressing”, Anthony Guglielmi, chief of contacts for the US Secret Service, said to The Post.
” The US Secret Service takes the safety and health of our employees really seriously”, he added.
Health workers were called to the scene, according to Guglielmi, and that agent had been at Joint Base Andrews for Harris ‘ planned departure, however, the fight did not pause her journey.
Guglielmi added that the department had never “disclose any more details” because it was a “medical issue,” as reported by The New York Post.
Harris made her way to New York City where she was scheduled to speak on” The Drew Barrymore Show” in an exam.
The broker involved in the encounter was armed and exhibited anger toward another, The New York Post reported, citing, the Washington Examiner. A depth shift supervisor and special agent in charge of the situation tried unsuccessfully to calm the situation, which led to a real encounter.
According to reports, the representative reportedly exhibited erratic behavior upon his arrival at the scene, eventually kicking the vice president’s particular agent.
Eventually, the agent was handcuffed and received medical interest.
The tragedy prompted attention of the owner’s hiring process, including evaluations of their history, The New York Post reported, citing, RealClearPolitics. Pre- existing issues about the owner’s conduct were even noted.
Guglielmi confirmed that Harris was briefed on the scenario, The New York Post reported.
