
The State Department’s director for Arabic, Hala Rharrit, has resigned in protest of the United States ‘ support for Israel in the fight against Hamas jihadists who killed 1200 on October 7 in an unprovoked terror attack.

In at least the second departure from the US State Department over the problem, the Arabic-language spokesperson for the agency announced her opposition to Washington’s plan regarding the conflict in Gaza.

On the social media platform Linked In, she writes,” I resigned April 2024 after 18 years of distinguished service in opposition to the US’s” Gaza policy.” When questioned about the resignation in today’s media briefing, a State Department spokesperson claimed that the organization has outlets where its employees can discuss their opinions when they disagree with federal policies.
Another standard, Josh Paul, the former , director of the Office of Congressional &, Public Affairs for the State Department’s Bureau of Political- Defense Affairs,  , resigned in October. He said in a statement at the time,” I am leaving now because I think that in our current situation, where the continued – however, expanded and expedited – supply of lethal weapons to Israel has come to the end of that deal.”
The State Department is viewed as a shelter for anti-Israel protesters. According to a recent article in Jewish Insider, the department has organized anti-Israel “listening classes” for angry employees to voice their opposition to Israel, which the majority of Americans support.
