A Wichita, Kansas, gentleman who breached the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, wearing a nationalist face face with an American flag painted on his mind has pleaded guilty to a single offense.

Chad Dustin Suenram, a U. S. Marine veteran, pleaded guilty to entering and remaining in a limited building or premises, court records show. His reading was held on Monday in the District of Columbia’s U.S. District Court via video conference.

His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 19. He could receive a maximum sentence of six months in prison and a$ 5, 000 fine.

Suenram, 44, is among&nbsp, 10 Kansas people charged&nbsp, in connection with the Capitol riot and the seventh to plead guilty. Eight of those accused have been sentenced. &nbsp, William Pope, of Topeka, is scheduled to go to test in July.

Suenram was arrested July 17&nbsp, in Haysville, north of Wichita, after being charged with four misdemeanors: dishonest entering or remaining in any limited building or grounds, unruly and problematic conduct in a limited building or grounds, chaotic conduct in a Capitol building, and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. In exchange for his guilty plea, the state dropped three of the costs.

He&nbsp, had been dubbed# FlagFaceMarine&nbsp, by a system of online researchers helping identify and find those involved in the Capitol attack.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the criminal complaint, the FBI tracked over Suenram after seek warrant results showed that a smartphone associated with his firm Gmail account was inside and outside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, between 2: 43 p. m. and 4: 09 p. m. The enterprise, New Look Businesses Landscaping, was owned by Suenram, the report said.

The FBI said Suenram traveled to Washington, D. C., on Jan. 5 through a private bus charter company. According to the affidavit, facial recognition software on the photos and video footage taken on January 6 revealed that Suenram was present at the Capitol that day.

” In the photographs, Suenram had a painted American flag on the right side of his head, just above his ear”, it said. Suenram was sporting a long-sleeved black hoodie with a black t-shirt over it. The front and back of the black t-shirt read” USMC” in red letters, and the back also featured a metallic eagle.

Suenram was also said to be wearing a plastic face mask that resembled an American flag.

According to the affidavit, Suenram entered the Capitol through the Senate fire door at about 2:45 p.m. and, about nine minutes later, was caught on surveillance footage forcing a large crowd to leave the building through the same door.

According to the affidavit, Suenram then re-enter the building through the Senate Wing door at 3:05 p.m. after another video. Suenram was seen walking through the Crypt before joining a group that was yelling,” USA!!” on video from cellphones of other people inside the Capitol. USA”! while recording the scene on his phone, it said.

Suenram reportedly spent 25 to 27 minutes inside the Capitol before exiting through the south door vestibule. But instead of leaving the grounds, it said, at 3: 40 p. m. he stood in front of a mob that had gathered outside the north door and was confronting police.

” After repeated attacks by the mob, police officers retreated inside the U. S. Capitol building”, the affidavit said. Suenram remained in the front of the mob even after the officers ‘ retreat inside the building, filming and cheering as police officers used tear gas to clear the area.

Suenram remained a few feet away from the north door as other rioters attempted to break into the building with a bike rack and other objects, according to the affidavit.

On July 12, 2022, two FBI agents contacted Suenram at his home and talked to him for about 10 minutes, the document said. He declined to be interviewed and stated that he would seek legal counsel.

However, the affidavit stated that” Both agents confirmed that the photos of Suenram captured in this investigation are a positive match with the Suenram that was met at the residence while they were there.”
