KABUL: Former President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai has said that the education of girls is a “vital problem” for Afghanistan, as the fundamental right of the women in the country are curtailed under the Taliban regime, according to Khaama Press.
During a conversation with Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran’s adviser and special agent, Karzai stressed the value of female ‘ training.
However, severe shortcomings also exist in Afghanistan, especially with regard to women’s freedom, in spite of these discussions about learning and regional security. People face major barriers to learning that, after the sixth grade, severely restrict their ability to pursue higher education and potential for personal growth.
However, restrictive laws limit children’s access to the workplace, robbing them of financial freedom and their capacity to fully participate in society, according to Khaama Press.
These restrictions even perpetuate gender inequality and hinder Afghanistan’s attempts to become a more welcoming and equitable society.
However, there are growing limits on Afghanistan’s freedom of expression and access to free press, which hinders the spread of opposing beliefs and important data.
