Don Lemon’s response to questions about his past show’s Russia collusion cover left some asking:” Is that man actually tell the truth”?

Former President Donald Trump frequently used the collaboration myth that had become so prevalent on corporate media since his entry into politics had been determined to be a fake. That reality did n’t stop Lemon, a former CNN talking head, from defending his decades- long company for their “good” policy regarding Russiagate or his own preconceptions with the state,” There’s mind journalism”.
Appearing on Friday’s” Counter Points”, inc- hosts Ryan Grim and Emily Jashinsky challenged the critic over how CNN started” to good kind of like a Democrat mouth” prompting major pushback, especially on Russia.
” The Russia policy on CNN was…good. I believe the media policy of Russia was excellent. I do n’t think that it was bad. You might agree with it. That’s your bias”, leveled Lemon. ” But really, the policy was good. And I think that individuals are intelligent enough to identify what’s real and what’s not, what’s real and what’s not. And so, I do n’t think that the coverage was that bad. I do n’t fall into that category”.
” And I think people were — appearance, I think people kind of glorify the moment that we were in, like persons romanticize, you know, COVID and the techniques that were in place, and this was poor, and that was terrible. They do n’t recall the period we were in, he continued with a revisionist history argument. ” I believe that the media did the job at the time that they could. I do n’t think that it was terrible. We can always look back, you know, from being armchair quarterback, Monday morning quarterback and saying’ Oh, you should have done this.’ Shoulda, woulda, coulda. We did n’t”.
While the former CNN host claimed errors were corrected, his defense of the Russia narrative omitted how one early instance required a$ 100 million libel lawsuit, which reportedly resulted in retractions and terminations for the claim that Congress had been looking into Trump transition team member Anthony Scaramucci over Russian ties.
Lemon, who had previously argued against claims of network bias, stood in defense of “opinion journalism” when Grim called out CNN’s leftist leanings.
” I do n’t agree with the premise of what you’re saying and when people put it in that context… We all view life through a certain lens, whether we’re journalists or not…It is actually okay to be a journalist and have an opinion”, said the commentator. ” There’s opinion journalism. So I do n’t believe in that BS about, you know, journalists just have to sit there and go,’ What do you think, what do you think, okay, fine.’ That’s not how it works…That was the zenith, I believe, of CNN during that time”.
” And it may have looked, I think, that we had moved to the left of that, you know, we were somehow becoming an arm of the Democratic Party. The only reason for that was the Republican party, which included Donald Trump and the MAGA wing of the Republican Party,”” said the finger-pointing. The truth was n’t in their favor, they claimed.
” So, by the simple fact of pointing out that someone is lying, that you’re getting misinformation, it may make people think that,’ Oh, my God, you must be on the Democrat side.’ No, you’re on the side of truth,” remarked Lemon, who was mocked over his own instances of laughing at” credulous Boomer rubes” supporting Trump among his numerous statements that accused the president’s supporters of having” cognitive dissonance.”
Few people were left wondering why Lemon’s venture on X had been canceled by billionaire Elon Musk, according to reactions to the commentary.
