
After weeks of upheaval, students in Paris inspired by the solidarity camps in Gaza happily ejected a school building from a prestigious French school late on Friday.
The Paris Institute of Political Studies ‘ ( Scenarios Po ) head said an agreement was found with students on Friday. Among its numerous well-known students is President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
As pro-Palestinian students attempted to hold an amphitheatre earlier this month, tensions had broken out on the campus.
Pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel protesters squared off in a tense standoff outside the university on Friday. Riot authorities intervened to break up the opposing teams.
Afterward, students agreed to leave the website.
Wajih, a pro-Palestine activist and Sciences Po student, said” the activity has paused for the moment” in response to the university’s decision to not give his last name. But we’ll also support the Palestinian action at large, we’ll assist various institutions, we’ll support all over the globe until Palestine is free”.
Jean Basseres, the superintendent of Sciences Po, sent an email to students pledging to hold a conference meeting in the upcoming month and to dismiss some disciplinary proceedings against students. The school administration moved courses online on Friday and closed all of the school buildings.
