Representative Jamie Raskin ( D- MD) said , Thursday on MSNBC’s” The ReidOut” that the Supreme Court should be moved to the Republican National Committee ( RNC ) headquarters after their questions during the oral , arguments on immunity for former President Donald Trump.
Raskin said,” They’re officials who are not yet subject to common poll, unlike me. Because they act like a bunch of political employees, they should walk the Supreme Court over to the RNC office. Justice Alito’s question, which is the most astonishing for me today, was that he really questioned whether holding the president directly responsible for actual crimes committed, whether it be a murderous coup or anything else, would really encourage them to carry out more aggressive coups to avoid punishment. This perfectly aligns with Donald Trump’s narcissistic criminal worldview. I mean, for all of British history, we’ve said leaders are subject to criminal prosecution if they commit offences”.
He continued,” Then they say, well, if you’re actually suggest to Donald Trump, and you hold him accountable the way every other American voter is guilty, then he’ll actually overthrow the government. He’ll really bring out the big guns, and we ca n’t afford that. That is a kind of sadistic capitulationism to Donald Trump’s dictatorship. It’s the fundamental concept of our rules that no one is above the law, including the president, must be held accountable to the president.
Raskin continued,” We now have a number of judges who are asking concerns that show they are just as corrupt as members of Congress I served with.”
