Kristi Noem, a probable running mate for Donald Trump, reportedly admitted to the incidents of a family dog and goat.
In her upcoming narrative, Kristi Noem, who is now the governor of South Dakota, disclosed that she killed an “untrainable” puppy named Cricket on her mother’s land.
She described the 14-month-old dog as acting like a” trained assassin” and said it was “dangerous to people she came in contact with.”
Noem more expressed her strong dislike for the dog in her narrative, portions of which were first shared by The Guardian on Friday, citing its meddling with a kill and its problems on chickens owned by a local community.
She wrote, explaining that she retrieved her gun and later led Cricket to a sand pit, and that she realised she had to put her down.
Noem added that because she was n’t castrated, her family owned a male goat that was referred to as “nasty and mean.”
The animal emitted a “disgusting, earthy, rancid” taste and happy in chasing Noem’s kids, usually knocking them down and spoiling their clothing.
She claimed that she made the decision to put the animal to sleep in the same way she had done her dog.
Responding to the passages, the Democratic Party under Joe Biden’s administration labeled them “horrifying” and “disturbing”, attempting to leverage the affair in a 2024 election environment. The Democratic National Committee reaffirmed its support for Democrat candidates by saying,” If you prefer elected representatives who refrain from boasting about the brutal killing of their dogs as part of their self-promotional endeavors, finally accept our contact- and cast your vote for Democrats.”
PETA slams Kristi Noem
Kristi Noem’s decision to put the dog to death was criticized by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals ( PETA ), who claimed that she lacks knowledge of fundamental political principles, such as compassion and education.
Colleen O’Brien, senior producer at PETA, remarked,” Most Americans cherish their dogs, and we anticipate that they will see Gov. Noem is incredibly misguided for allowing this energetic dog to hurt animals and then choosing to end her life rather than seek education or find a better caretaker who could give her a proper setting.
” In an official statement, she commented,’ Noem evidently lacks comprehension of crucial political principles such as education, cooperation, compromise, and compassion.'”
However, Kristi Noem rose up and defended her decision to end her story about putting her dog to death.
” We love animals, but tough decisions like this happen all the time on a farm. Sadly, we just had to put down 3 horses a few weeks ago that had been in our family for 25 years”, she wrote on her X ( formerly Twitter ) account.
Her book, titled” No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward”, is set to be published in the US on May 7. According to reports, Donald Trump is considering her for his vice presidential running mate.
On November 5, Trump and Democratic President Joe Biden will retake the general election.
