Sophia Bush, a one-time Women’s Soccer person, has come out as “queer,” appearing at the White House Correspondents Dinner as a couple with Ashlyn Harris, a former women’s hockey player.
” I kind of detest the idea that 2024 must be the year of the release. However, I am aware that this discussion is occurring at a time when the LGBTQIA + community is facing the most repressive attacks in recent memory,” Bush wrote in a recent Glamour cover story.
Importantly, Bush’s attendance comes nine months after filing for divorce from Grant Hughes.
” There were , complaints of being a residence- wrecker. The ones who said I’d left my father because I immediately realized I wanted to be with women”, the , Chicago P. D.  , artist said.
” I want to give the work of coming out the respect and honor it deserves”, Bush continued. ” I’ve experienced so many safety, value, and enjoy in the gay community, as an ally all of my life, that, as I came into myself, I now felt it was my home”.
” I believe I’ve always known that my gender is a band. Right now I think , the phrase that best determines it is , queer”, she added. ” I ca n’t say it without smiling, actually. And that feels really great”.
Bush continued by referring to her open admission of her gender as a “milestone,” saying that her friends and family view her coming out as gay as an interesting issue.
” I was praising the excitement and joy I felt as people spoke to me about this step. I felt nothing”, the artist said. ” Things had n’t been easy at home, but everyone says marriage is hard, right”?
” I did n’t see it until I saw it”, Bush added of her sexuality revelations. ” And I think it’s really easy not to see anything that’s been in front of your mouth for a long time when you’d always looked at it as an alternative and , you , had never been looked at as an option”.
On Saturday evening, Bush made her red-carousel debut with Ashlyn Harris, a previous U.S. Women’s National Team keeper who was formerly married to Ali Krieger. Megan Rapinoe was the maid of honor at the child’s marriage.
