The World Holocaust Remembrance Center, Yad Vashem, expressed its shock on Sunday over reports that British and American statues were covered in order to protect them from advancing pro-Palestine activists.
The Israel- based business noted , Holocaust monuments serve as” grave memories of the unprecedented horrors perpetrated, during one of the saddest chapters in human story”.
Why does a Holocaust monument need to be hidden if it’s not an racist activity?

They also serve as testament to the millions of innocent lives lost, who are working to prevent the same traumas from previously repeating.  , Yad Vashem issued a declaration continuing:
The fear of the plague of international racism is the catalyst behind the choice to cover up Holocaust monuments and exhibitions. By hiding these traditional reminders, we are simply addressing the signs while ignoring the root cause of the problem. Yad Vashem implores government to address the spirit of the activities: contempt and hatred. These are the real issues that threaten our society’s spiritual foundation.
Yad Vashem calls upon all people, populations, and governments to preserve the memory of the Holocaust and to constantly work towards a world free from hatred and discrimination. In our efforts to combat racism, we must be vigilant and remember the survivors ‘ voices and their legacy.
According to The Daily Mail, Scotland Yard was in the news on Sunday that Israeli organizations were outraged after a Holocaust memorial was hidden because of fears that pro-Palestine activists would vandalize it.

Authorities in Hyde Park concealed the world’s first public monument to the six million Nazis who died under a blue tarp in a move one Holocaust veteran referred to as” shameful.”
The statue was therefore kept safe by Metropolitan Police in order to prevent pro-Palestinian activists from marching through London in yet another show against the war in Gaza.
