Officials in southern Germany said on Sunday that two Russian men had been fatally stabbed, and that a Russian man had been detained by the government as a potential suspect.
The two Russians, who were 23 and 36 times older and lived in the southeastern German state of Garmisch- Partenkirchen, were killed on the grounds of a shopping center in the town of Murnau in Upper Bavaria.
Soon after the slayings on Saturday night, the police arrested a 57- yr- old Russian on suspicion of murder, European news agency dpa reported.

In accordance with European privacy laws, the names of the patients and the suspect were n’t made public. The possible motive for the killings was n’t yet known, authorities said. It also was n’t clear if the three men knew each other.
Since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, more than 1 million Russian immigrants have emigrated to Germany.
In addition, Germany is home to a major Russian immigrant population and 2.5 million German-born Russians, who primarily emigrated there after the Soviet Union collapsed in the first 1990s.
