Jerry Seinfeld, one of the most powerful performers in story, lamented that the “extreme left” has ruined humor.
Seinfeld claimed in an interview on New Yorker’s Radio Hour that people are looking for the pleasure and catharsis of true comedy, which he believes has declined in recent years as a result of the increase of woke culture.
” Nothing truly affects funny. Individuals require it on a regular basis. They need it so badly and they do n’t get it”, he said.
” It used to be that you’d get residence at the end of the day, most people do come,’ Oh, Cheers is on. Oh, M. A. S. H. is on. Oh, Mary Tyler Moore is on, All in the Family is on.’ You simply expected]there will ] get some interesting stuff we can see on TV evening”, he said.
” Well, guess what? Where is it? Where is it? He continued,” This is the result of the extreme left, P. C. nonsense, and citizens worrying so much about offending another people.”
Seinfeld said that his business, stand- up humor, has been rising due to the freedom comics have on level.
” Then they’re going to see , endure- up comics , because they are not policed by everyone. The market controls our behavior. We know when we’re off record. We know immediately. And we adjust to it instantly”, Seinfeld said. ” But when you write a text, and it goes into four or five distinct hands, committees, groups–’ How’s our idea about this joke’ – well, that’s the conclusion of your comedy”.
” With some performers right now, people are having fun with them crossing the line, and we all laughing at it,” he continued. ” But again, it’s the stand-ups that really have the freedom to do it because no one else is held accountable if things do n’t go well.” He or she can take all the blame]themselves. ]”
Seinfeld has previously been open about his opinions on political correctness, but this is the first time he specifically cited the extraordinary left’s impact on humor and culture.
