Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA ) stated on” Katy Tur Reports” on MSNBC that if the Democrats win control of Congress and the White House, they will repeal the filibuster to make abortion legal everywhere.
Pelosi said,” Individuals have to see pregnancy as a democracy issue. For a girl, this is about having the freedom to choose her own actions. It’s a personal choice, it’s an economical choice at the restaurant table of America’s people, if and when they could grow their households or even begin their families”.
Do you believe this will be a more important issue at the ballot field this time around, Tur asked?
Pelosi said,” Well, it is because the truth is that no matter what he says, there will be a national abortion ban, and that would be terrible for our land”.
She continued,” We have to get it all. With our excellent American president, Joe Biden, who has a vision for America that is in line with our members, the surrender of our uniformed men and women, and the desires of our children and their families, we must win the White House.
Tur asked,” If President Biden gets reelected and there’s a Democratic House and a Political Senate, what does President Trump do to protect abortion statewide”?
Pelosi said,” We can uphold into the law Roe v. Wade”.
Tur said,” That do get two- quarters in the Senate”.
She continued,” No it does n’t. It’s 60 votes is the Senate today but if we win 50- plus- 1 in the Senate, 50 plus the evil leader, we may reject the 60- voting rule”.
Tur said,” The legislature”.
Pelosi said,” The senate and move it with a 51- voting ratio. That’s what we need to do”.
