According to a fresh Harvard-Harris surveys, 80 % of registered voters in the United States think that” students and professors who call for violence against Jews” may become suspended.
The poll, conducted among 1, 961 listed voters, was conducted April 24- 25, as campuses across the country were besieged by pro- Arab protests and “encampments” calling for Israel to remain abolished and for “intifada”, which refers to a battle of terror against Israelis. Some protesters publicly backed Hamas and demanded the assassination of more Jewish troops.
83 % of those polled say members should be suspended when asked about students and professors who actually engage in physical violence, such as the assault on editors that occurred last week at a UCLA “encampment.”
Another poll results on the continuing conflict between Hamas extremists and Israel in Gaza remain consistent with earlier poll results. 80 % of respondents back Israel, just 20 % back Hamas. Given that the anti-Israel or pro-Palestine demonstrations also featured anti-American information, that is perhaps not surprising.
In addition, 72 % of respondents said that Israel should “move forward with an operation in Rafah to finish the war with Hamas, doing its best to avoid civilian casualties even though there will be casualties.” Only 28 % of respondents believe Israel should “back off” and permit Hamas to run Gaza. ( The Biden administration opposes Israel’s plans to put an end to Hamas in Rafah. )
The poll’s 2 % problem margin is.
