Johnson blasts information that the ICC is looking into arrest warrants for Zionist leaders | The Hill
Speaker Mike Johnson ( R- La. ) On Monday, criticized reports that the International Criminal Court ( ICC ) intends to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials.
Johnson said in a statement that the ICC if focus its efforts on Hamas and another Iran-aligned terror groups and sue them for “engaged in tragic war crimes” and that the reported arrest warrants were illegal.
According to Johnson, Johnson said in a statement,” It is scandalous that the International Criminal Court ( ICC ) is reportedly planning to issue baseless and illegitimate arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials.”
” Like a violent actions by the ICC had immediately destroy U. S. national security passions”, he continued. ” If unchallenged by the Biden administration, the ICC was create and believe extraordinary power to issue arrest warrants against British social leaders, American officials, and American military officers, thereby endangering our government’s royal authority”.
His speech comes as a result of rumors that Israeli officials are beginning to believe that the ICC is preparing to challenge arrest warrants for older Israeli officials and apparently Hamas officials.
Following Hamas ‘ attack on October 7, according to The New York Times, Israeli leaders could face charges of “prohibiting the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip” and “pursuing an unnecessarily harsh response” as a result.
The Associated Press reported later on Sunday that Israel’s foreign ministry had informed Jewish operations of “rumors” that permits might been issued against senior political and military leaders.
On Monday, the Biden administration made it clear that it did not support the research, and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated on Monday that the management does not feel the ICC has control over the situation.
” We’ve been really obvious about the ICC investigation. We oppose it, too. We do n’t believe that they have the jurisdiction. And I’m just going to leave it there for today”, she said.
While neither Israel nor the United States accept the ICC’s control, possible permits had placed Israeli officials at danger in other countries, the AP reported.
Johnson wrote in his statement that the Biden Administration has quickly and unwaveringly require that the ICC step over and that the United States use every possible means to stop for anabomination.
