After allegedly not being paid, the law firm representing Dolton, Illinois, Mayor Tiffany Henyard ( D) has requested to withdraw from several lawsuits involving Henyard and the Village of Dolton.
The Del Galdo Law Group warned that the Village of Dolton was on the verge of becoming “uninsurable” in a text shared with the Daily Mail and addressed to Henyard and the Village Board of Trustees, adding that they had not been paid and were” never required to work for free.”
According to reports, Henyard is facing 22 legal claims related to her actions.
The Del Galdo Law Group letter states that” the Board recently voted to stop paying our legal bills.” ” We are, of course, never required to work for free and decline to complete so”.
The law agency stated in its email that it would withdraw from a small number of cases on May 8, 2024 and would not be defending any fresh legal cases that emerged or were filed.
Del Galdo Law Group added that the Village of Dolton was apparently still racked up its bill, and that it was “quickly approaching the level of being uninsurable.”
Henyard was just named” America’s Worst Mayor” in relation to her controversial spending habits and reported abuse of office, also, she is being accused of covering up a friend’s sexual abuse of a former staff.
The former staff alleges that Dolton Village owner Andrew Holmes sexually assaulted her while visiting Las Vegas.
Dolton Village Hall was subpoenaed on April 19 by FBI agents. One summons was in relation to work records, personnel files, and administrative reports for about 25 city employees, three officers officers, and the town administrator.
Keith Freeman, the township administrator who was facing bankruptcy charges, received a second lawsuit.
