According to Mnookin,” We continue to ask the protesters to voluntarily comply with state law against tents and encampments on university property.” What position, in your opinion, would have been created if Tea Party protesters or anti-Covid vaccine demonstrators had set up campfires on campus? We hope that protestors will choose to use their own free and alternative means of expression while avoiding tents or camps on our campus grounds.
The tents were still up as of late Monday evening, according to multiple reports. Up until the university met their demands, including cutting all ties to Israeli institutions and removing all ties to businesses that profited from Israel’s war on terror, protesters were holding the UW’s Library Mall hostage.
