A new accusation of poll interference was brought against the former president by the former president’s legal wars, but this one was directed at Special Counsel Jack Smith rather than Trump.
Tuesday New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, the head of the House Republican Conference, took purpose at the Justice Department appointment with a conventional morality issue. The GOP head both claimed in a letter to the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility that Smith had meddled in the 2024 presidential election and that he had violated office requirements.
