Bulgarian perfect minister-designate announced on Tuesday that the new state of Serbia will have a past intelligence chief who has maintained close ties with Russia and is a U.S. official.
Milos Vucevic announced the content of his coming cupboard, which is expected to be approved by the Serbian parliament in the coming days as one of several vice-prime ministers, according to Aleksandar Vulin.
Serbia has publicly aspired to the European Union, but it has kept in touch with Russia and objected to Russian punishment for the Ukraine war.
Vulin’s participation in the new state suggests that Serbia continues to have close ties with Russia despite Serbia’s proclamation of being pro-EU.
In July, the U. S. imposed restrictions on Vulin, accusing him of involvement in improper arms supplies, drug trafficking and use of public business.
Vulin used his public authority to assist a U.S. sanctioned Serb arms dealer in moving improper arms shipments across Serbia’s territories, according to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. According to US government, Vulin is even accused of being a part of a drug smuggling operation.
After being subjected to punishment, Vulin left the head of Serbia’s knowledge firm, known as BIA. He had formerly held the positions of both the army and police key.
Vucevic, the fresh primary- minister designate, originally served as the protection minister.
The formation of the government comes months after the ruling populist right-wing party of President Aleksandar Vucic won the majority of the 250-member assembly following a strained legislative election in December. Due to reports of common irregularities that were reported by both local and international observers, the vote heightened political conflicts. Following the election, an opposition party staged city protests.
