Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents with whom I served will only be permitted to arrest 125, 000 illegal immigrants in governmental 2025 under the leadership of President Donald Trump. Less than half of the unlawful immigrants deported in governmental 2019 will be allowed to do so.
This is dangerous and against the rules.
While this is occurring, thousands of ICE detention beds ( a critical removal resource funded by America’s taxpayers ) remain empty. Similarly problematic is that ICE may be using GPS tracking to track illegal immigrants, but it is refusing to do so on a suitable level.
Mayorkas is asking Congress to finance just 34, 000 ICE confinement beds next time as his own ICE director circulates on Capitol Hill, claiming that 50 000 confinement beds are required, in response to the report flood of illegal immigration and crime. The confinement bed full requested by Mayorkas is likewise 7, 500 fewer than the sum that is now, and poorly, funded by Congress. Does that sound like a gentleman putting our country’s security first, or a man retaliating against the demands of extreme open-border activists?

In the month Ibarra was released at the border, there were roughly 25, 000 illegal immigrants in detention with thousands of beds empty, meaning that DHS could have detained ( and later deported ) Ibarra. If Biden had done this, Riley may be alive today. He was rather free, joining millions of other illegal immigrants who readily roam American neighborhoods and afterwards commit crimes against our fellow citizens.
The Biden administration’s efforts to dismantle detention and allow illegal immigrants to roam free also extend to other programs, such as the Alternatives to Detention. Mohammad Kharwin, an Afghan national with ties to terrorism, was recently rumored to have been quickly processed before being expelled from the intensive supervision appearance program after just over two weeks.

He was then released on bond for a brief period, but he is now back in federal custody, according to news reports.
Quickly releasing an Afghan national onto the unsupervised, non- detained docket after about two weeks on ISAP is indefensible, but it tracks with an alarming number of quick program terminations under the Biden administration.
The truth is that GPS monitoring significantly increases the likelihood that people who are illegally entering the country will comply with their immigration laws. Those who are enrolled in ISAP are more easily located if they cross the border and have a 98.6 % compliance rate for escorting immigration hearings.  ,  ,

Unfortunately, the Biden administration has n’t used the program effectively or correctly, instead acting on the orders of” Abolish ICE” organizations, who call any monitoring of illegal immigrants a “digital prison” and oppose custodial detention. This explains why the program’s use has decreased by 37 %. As of late February, nearly 185, 000 illegal immigrants are being monitored on ATD, a drop from 293, 000 enrolled at the same time in 2023.  ,
Biden wants to completely eliminate ISAP and convert ATD to social services that you, the taxpayer, pay to assist illegal immigrants when they arrive. The Young Adult Case Management Program and the Case Management Pilot Program, both of which House Republicans unsuccessfully sought to terminate, are already enabling this.
In contrast to how frequently ISAP is used ( or used under the current administration ), ISAP can act as a crucial GPS tracking system for illegal immigrants so that we can carry out large-scale deportations like those that President Donald Trump has planned.  ,
This open-border madness will continue — at least for now as Biden and Mayorkas quietly continue to abolish ICE and core agency functions from within.  ,  ,
Fortunately, come November, the public will have a clear choice on the ballot: catch and release or detain and deport.
It should be an easy answer.
