DHS releases list of U.S. cities highest number of migrants have been flown into ‘via a controversial parole program’

Data from the Department of Homeland Security ( DHS) shows that hundreds of thousands of immigrants enter the country through a contentious parole program for four different nationalities, with the majority of them coming through Florida airports.

During an eight- quarter period from January through August 2023, about 200, 000 workers flew into the U. S. via the system. Of those, 80 % of them, ( 161, 562 ) arrived in the state of Florida in four cities: Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa Bay, according to DHS data obtained via a subpoena by the House Homeland Security Committee and provided to Fox News.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently stated that the system is a” secure and peaceful way to reach the United States” and has” caused a decrease in figures of those countries.”

” It is a crucial component of our efforts to address the extraordinary level of movement that we are experiencing, and other countries around the world see it as a model to address the problem of increased random movement that they too are experiencing,” Mayorkas said.

The best 15 places that migrants entered during the eight-month glass are:

    1 ) Miami, Florida: 91, 821

    2 ) Feet. Lauderdale, Florida: 60, 461

    3 ) New York City, New York: 14, 827

    4 ) Houston, Texas: 7, 923

    5 ) Orlando, Florida: 6, 043

    6 ) Los Angeles, California: 3, 271

    7 ) Tampa, Florida: 3, 237

    8 ) Dallas, Texas: 2, 256

    9 ) San Francisco, California: 2, 052

    10 ) Atlanta, Georgia: 1, 796

    11 ) Newark, New Jersey: 1, 498

    12 ) Washington, D. C.: 1, 472

    13 ) Chicago, Illinois: 496

    14 ) Las Vegas, Nevada: 483

    15 ) Austin, Texas: 171

In addition, DHS revealed in the lawsuit answer that as of October 2023, there were approximately 1.6 million candidates awaiting DHS’s assent to travel to the United States via the probation system.

DHS said in its summons response,” All persons paroled into the United States are, by description, illegal, including those paroled under the CHNV techniques”.

As long as they had never entered the country illegally, had a partner in the U.S. presently, and passed a number of biological and historical screening requirements, the legislation was first made available to Venezuelans in October 2022. According to Fox News, the program does not itself help flights, and refugees are in charge of their own journey.

The administration made the announcement in January 2023 that the software may now include Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Cubans, and that it would allow up to 30 000 people a month to enter the country. It also includes an enlargement of Title 42 pogroms to include those countries. By the end of February 2024, more than 400, 000 nationals have arrived under the parole program, according to Customs and Border Protection ( CBP ) data.
