Anti-Israel activists have continued to set up new pro-Palestinian camps, even as some are taken out by law enforcement, with the most recent examples atop the University of Texas- Dallas and University of California San Diego (UCSD ).
The UT- Dallas rally is noticeable, given that Gov. Last week, Greg Abbott ( R ) dispatched Texas Department of Public Safety ( DPS) officers to clear a similar encampment at UT-Austin. Additionally, the UCSD rally poses a risk of causing conflict with the nearby La Jolla Orthodox area.
Fox 5 San Diego reported:
On Wednesday, pro-Palestine demonstrations erupted on San Diego university campuses, with students from the University of San Diego walking out of school for a memorial to the dead in Gaza and an encampment forming on the campus.
…
More than a day later, hundreds of San Diego Express students staged a protest to urge the school’s management to reduce economic ties with Israel and better support Arab members of the campus community.
All three are based on protests mounted by students at college campuses across the nation against the U.S. involvement in the war and the issue in Gaza. The protesters have particularly demanded that their schools boycott Israel and criticize its continuing military offensive, which they describe as a genocide in progress.
The just “genocide” in the fight is Hamas’s murderous mandate, which calls for the extermination of Israel and the death of Zionists around the world. The UCSD opposition also used the word “intifada”, which refers to a harsh rebellion. A terrible battle of attacks and killings by Palestinians against Israelis, mostly civilians, was the backdrop of the most recent revolution.
Update: Officers have dispersed the camp at UT- Dallas, only days after it was established.
RIGHT NOW: Soldiers dressed in riot gear are removing portions of the camp site at UT Dallas. Some persons are being taken away by the police. https ://t.co/jpJU7IWP8m photograph. twitter.com/ZTCczuPIRm
