This year, authorities detained 15 people and made arrests at an anti-Israel campsite at Fordham University.
In response to a related camp at Columbia University, according to a report from Breitbart News on Wednesday, an anti-Israel protest camp erupted at Fordham.
” Huts were , seen , set up inside a tower on the university’s school as part of a ‘ Gaza unity encampment,'” said the statement.  ,” Officers from the New York Police Department ( NYPD), dressed in riot gear, began a raid on anti- Israel encampments at Columbia University and the , City University of New York , ( CUNY ) late Tuesday evening”.

Then: Demonstrators are gathering outside Fordham University’s Lincoln Center college to show their support for the” Gaza Solidarity Encampment,” which was established earlier this morning.

Tania Tetlow, president of Fordham University, lamented the educational institution’s choice but to call the police in a statement condemning the encampment and comparing it to a burglary.
” We arrived at our school at Lincoln Center this day as a result of the wave of protests and camps that were pervading the country.” A number of people pushed into the Lowenstein building’s hall and set up tents. After threats of do sanctions, most quit”, she wrote in an email. The remaining protesters “refused to discover themselves or ask whether they were members of our community.” After many warnings, Undercover arrested fifteen people for criminal intruding. We believe some of those were Fordham kids”.
Tetlow reaffirmed the powerful emotions that people have toward Gaza and Israel, but she also emphasized that the protests had crossed a range.
We draw the line at incursions into classrooms, mainly by those who are not members of our neighborhood. ( There is a distinction between free speech and people yelling at you inside your home. ) Hundreds of protesters from different locations gathered outside the window to help the few people who were invited to do so via social media. We worried that the growing audience outside did break the glass because it slammed against it so violently. We were concerned that activists had enter campus even more,” she said.
